Chinatown in Paris is very famous and it is now considered as a touristy place for French people and foreign visitors. Still its a bit wrong to call it Chinatown, it should be called "Asiantown" as we can also find a lot of people from Vietnam, Cambodia and other Eastern countries.

CHINATOWN started in Paris in the 1930s and 40s. Chinese from Wenzhou province came to work for the Jewish traders in leather and wholesale businesses. But its only in the late 1970s and early 1980s that Chinatown really took off in Paris with the arrival of people from Vietnam and Cambodia.

Today the different Asian communities leave together and work mainly in the Import-Export business. As you can see below, there are today hundreds of Chinese shops in Chinatown.
